A review on the direct electroplating of polymeric materials

Abstract This work is a review of the literature on possibilities for electroplating polymer materials. Methods metalizing polymers and their composites were presented discussed. Information from various publications electrical properties was collected The most important results conductive compared. especially focuses conductivity main focus efficiency metal electrodeposition. Based analyzed publications, it found that electrically deposited layers polymeric materials show discontinuity, considerable roughness, different layer thickness depending distance contact electrode. use nanoparticles (AgNWs) or nickel (NiNPs) as filler enables effective metallization composite. Due to high aspect ratio, possible lower percolation threshold with low content in matrix. reveals many problems associated effectiveness methods. It indicates need direction further research development field modification properties.
